Obituary

Kathryn R. Gierloff, 89, of Eau Claire, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend died Friday, August 29, 2003 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born in Eau Claire on Friday, September 13, 1913, the daughter of Nichol and Ruby (Kettleson) Campbell. She taught 2nd grade at Lincoln Elementary in Eau Claire. Kathryn married Harold Gierloff on July 6, 1940 in Solon Springs, WI.\r\nShe was a member of Lowes Creek Homemakers Club, Lake Street United Methodist Circle and was involved in many other church activities.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Janice Eickhoff of Plymouth, MN; her son, Jeffrey (Barbara) Gierloff of Huntsville, AL; her grandchildren, Christina and Kathryn Eickhoff, Elizabeth (Richard) Omann, Erik (Lori) Gierloff; and three great grandchildren, Grace, Zachery and Hannah Omann.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 1976; two brothers, Charles and George Campbell; five sisters, Mae Vollendorf, Jessie Reed, Clara Wilson, Margaret Flint and Evelyn Cosgrove.\r\nMemorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, August, 31, 2003 in the chapel at Lake Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Rev. E. Doyle Blanton officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is assisting the family.\r\nIn lieu of flowers her family requests memorials be sent to Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake St., Eau Claire, WI 54703.
