Kenneth R. Monson, 76, of Eau Claire went to his eternal home in heaven, Saturday, August 22, 2009, after passing away peacefully at his home. \r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on September 8, 1932, a son of J. Richard&Margaret (LaVine) Monson.\r\nKen worked over 20 years as a bus-boy at Hotel Eau Claire, and then in the laundry department at Luther Hospital for 25 years until his retirement in 1994.\r\nHe was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He enjoyed time with family, visits with neighbors and friends, bus trips to Turtle Lake, and his little dogs, Sadie I and Sadie II.\r\nHaving been homebound the last four years, Ken and his family appreciated the special care he received from his friend and neighbor, Susie.\r\nKenneth is survived by his brother, Merle (Joanne) Monson and sister, Mary Backstrom, both of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Louise Monson of Tony; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; and infant sister, LaVonne.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road, Eau Claire with the Rev. Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\n
