Kenneth Robert Whitwam, 77, of Eau Claire passed away at Syverson Nursing Home on Thursday, October 22, 2015, with his family by his side. Kenneth was born on October 28, 1937, to Harry and Delores (Schuch) Whitwam. He grew up in Eau Claire where he attended St. Patrick's School and later graduated from Regis High School in 1955. After high school Kenneth met his wife, LaRayne (Breiter) to whom he was married to for 58 years. Together they had five children. They loved to take motorcycle trips, go boating on Dells Pond and go camping. Kenneth worked at Johnson Printing and then Smyth Printing until he retired in 1998. He is survived by his wife, LaRayne; five children, Rodney (Kitty) Whitwam, Pamela (Gene) Novak, Dennis (Anne), Whitwam, Tamara (Steve) Matteson, Ronald (Sharon) Whitwam; ten grandchildren, Matthew Whitwam, Cory Novak, Jake Whitwam, John Whitwam, James Whitwam, Stephen Matteson, Amanda Matteson, Wesley Matteson, Erika Matteson, Jennifer Brakke; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Delores Whitwam; sister, Dorothy; and brother-in-law, Tom Polus. Services for Kenneth will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3320 Monroe St, Eau Claire, WI, with Deacon Robert "Bob" Chittendon officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Eau Claire, WI. The family would like to welcome you to join them for lunch at St. Olaf Catholic Church following the burial. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Syverson Nursing Home for the wonderful care they have provided Ken and his family.
