Kevin L. Stelzig, 45, of Eau Claire, passed away, holding the hand of his loving wife, at Albany Medical Center, in Albany, NY Wednesday, October 29, 2008, due to complications from a sudden heart attack.\r\nKevin was born in Eau Claire on November 21, 1962, the son of Kenneth and Patricia (Kulp) Stelzig. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1981.\r\nIn his younger years, he worked on farms and did fire fighting.\r\nLater he married Robin (Sorenson) and had a son David, they later divorced. After a long friendship, Kevin married Angela M. House in 1997, at Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Together they started a new family with sons David, Adam, and in 1998 were blessed with their daughter Alyssa.\r\nHe was an over the road truck driver for over 20 years and in 2004 received the "Driver of the Year" award while working for Roehl Transport and also achieved over 1.5 million accident free miles. To his trucker buddies Kevin earned the nickname "Mad Dog", working at Menards, Roehl Transport, and most recently Weather Shield of Medford. \r\nKevin's hobbies included woodworking, boating, golfing, and watching sports.\r\nHis passion was fireworks, the smell of sulfur in the air made him happy, as well as his family who delighted in his 4th of July fireworks display. Kevin was quick witted with a great sense of humor and was "quite knowledgeable in most things". Kevin it will never be the same without you.\r\nKevin is survived by his wife, Angela; two sons, David Stelzig, Adam Barone; and a daughter, Alyssa Stelzig; his mother, Patricia Stelzig; his father, Kenneth (Marilyn Clark) Stelzig; brother, Keith (Vickie) Stelzig, all of Eau Claire, and a sister, Kristin (Mike) Bonn of Durand; also nieces, Meghan, Michelle, Kayla; nephews, Aaron, and Michael; many cousins, Mother and Father-in-law, Steven&Sylvia House of Eau Claire, and numerous family members.\r\nKevin was preceded in death by his grandparents.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with Pastor Randy Olson officiating. Burial will be private at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
