Larry F. Douglas, 68, of Eau Claire died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at his home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.\r\nHe was born in Arvada, CO, on February 4, 1940, the son of Purlie and Beatrice (Breska) Douglas. Larry was baptized in the Presentation Church on March 10, 1940, in Denver, CO. Larry moved to Eau Claire in 1946. He grew up in the Town of Hallie. \r\nHe married Patricia D. Glenz on July 4, 1959, in Eau Claire.\r\nLarry worked as a clerk for the Soo Line Railroad for 25 years until his retirement in 1981.\r\nHe was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a 20 year member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks C.T.U, and a past member of the Concerned Hearts Club in Milwaukee.\r\nLarry is survived by his wife, Patricia of Eau Claire; his two sons, Terry Douglas of Eau Claire and Michael Douglas of Oshkosh; a granddaughter, Alyssa Douglas of Cadott; a brother, Paul Douglas of Chippewa Falls; a sister-in-law, Rosamond Guse of Augusta; two brothers-in-law, Charles (Leona) Glenz of Milwaukee and Richard (Carol Sue) Glenz of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and three grandchildren, Cody, Danielle, and Tyler Douglas.\r\nLarry's family appreciated the care he received through St. Joseph's Hospice, and a special thanks to his caregivers, Billie and Karen.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday May 5, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor Karen M. Hofstad officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at church.\r\n \r\n
