Larry M. Smith, 67, of Eau Claire died, Monday, April 14, 2008, at his home. He was born in Helvetia, West Virginia on June 10, 1940, the son of George and Margaret (Teuscher) Smith.\r\nHe served for a short time in the United States Army until the time of his honorable discharge.\r\nLarry married Lillian F. Custer on May 27, 1966, in Salem, Ohio. Larry and Lillian lived in St. Louis Park, MN for several years before moving to Eau Claire in 1984.\r\nHe worked in the Minneapolis area as a machinist at Farm Hand, Inc. and later for Van Dale, Inc. \r\nLarry is survived by his mother, Margaret Smith of Eau Claire; brother, Dwight (Bonnie) Smith of Chippewa Falls; a sister-in-law, Violet Valentine of Lisbon, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; and by his father, George.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Rev. David Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call on hour prior to the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.\r\n \r\n
