Latricia Elaine Austin Westphal, known affectionately to friends and family as "Tish", passed away at home on Saturday, October 27, 2018, peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by the ones she loved most. Tish will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend, "Louie" of 43 years, and their two sons, Brandon and Joshua. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lila Nyseth Austin; her father, Eddie Austin; oldest brother, Bob Austin; and two sisters in infancy. She leaves behind many who loved her, including her brothers, Ron (Cheryl) Austin, Wayne Austin and Steve Austin; sisters, Dawn (Dustey) Meservey and Lannys Mueller; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tish was described by many as being as tough as she was tiny. Although she lived the last six years of her life with numerous health issues and complications, she took it in stride and never complained. Tish loved animals but none as much as her two Persian cats, Pookie and Gizmo. Known for her love of music, she was blessed with a beautiful voice and went to state singing competitions in her youth. She could also play a pretty mean pair of spoons and the Stumpf fiddle. A hard worker with a giving nature, Tish worked at Memorex, ran a daycare out of her home and was a professional housekeeper for the elderly. She was also a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Tish was known for her compassion and kindness, she was greatly loved by all the lives she touched. To know her was to love her. Of all the lives she impacted and cared about, nothing mattered more to her than her two sons. Having the reputation as the loudest "cheerleader" in the stands, this pint-sized hockey mom was nominated "Hockey Mom of the Year". She was the secretary of treasury and never missed a single one of her son's games. Her husband and sons will miss her every day. Her love and legacy will be in their hearts forever. A Celebration of Tish's life will be held a t 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire. Visitation will follow from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
