LaVerne H. Fjelstad, 76, of Eau Claire died Monday, April 12, 2004 at Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home. He was born in Colfax, Wisconsin on December 12, 1927, the son of Helmer and Gladys (Sorenson) Fjelstad.\r\nSurvivors include his sister, Irene Schouviller of Cold Springs, MN; and many nieces and nephews, including, Paula (Todd) Fjelstad-Hebert and great nephew, Jeremy Fjelstad of Eau Claire.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Edna Fjelstad, Beverly Fjelstad, and June Peterson; and four brothers, Clifford, Merle, Kenneth and Donald Fjelstad.\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Family and friends may call an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.\r\nFamily suggests memorials be directed to Special Olympics, 2027 Fairfax St., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
