Obituary

LaVerne E. Ottum, 68, of Hallie died Thursday, May 2, 1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born July 10, 1927 in the Town of Drammen to Edward and Hazel (Anderson) Ottum. LaVerne married Maxine Wagner in Eau Claire on May 8, 1948. He worked twenty three years at Armour Meat Packing Plant until his retirement in 1970. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a member of the church dartball league. Fishing was a family activity at LaVerne and Maxine's home. LaVerne had his fishing rods and tackle ready as he waited the upcoming fishing season.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Maxine; four sons, Fritz (Julia) of Arlington,TX, Dale (Mary Beth) of Fayetteville, GA, Charlie (Joyce) of Wichita, KS, and Brion of Alda, NE; four daughters, Dianne (Ron) Bauer of Eau Claire, Jean "Loretta" Simonson of Augusta, Nancy (Randy) Anibas of Mondovi, Darlene Ida and her special friend, Roy Chesney both of Wisconsin Rapids; twenty-two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Duane (Irene) of Fall Creek, Peter (Mabel) of Goodman; a sister, LaVina (Norbert) Stubbe of Janesville and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Angela Bauer; two brothers, Harold and Paul; and a sister, Sarah Moen.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter officiating. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\n
