In Loving memory of LaVerne E. Schellfeffer. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of LaVerne. He enjoyed 82 wonderful years with family and friends. LaVerne was born in Eau Claire, WI on March 19, 1941 to Edwin and Adeline (Weggen) Schellfeffer. He graduated from Memorial High School the class of 1959. LaVerne was an outstanding athlete and as a selected sophomore helped his baseball team win the state championship. He also lettered in football and baseball. After graduating from high school, he attended Sacramento Community College. He met the love of his life, Kathleen Turney, and they were married January 1, 1962 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and had 4 children. LaVerne loved his family, the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He was a master gardener who grew beautiful flowers that were admired by all. He was always smiling with a laugh that was contagious. He enjoyed life to the fullest. We love you so much, and we will miss you! He is survived by: his wife, Kathy, and 3 children; Holly (Paul) Nelson, Mark (Sue) Schellfeffer, Mike Schellfeffer; 4 grandchildren, Wyatt Nelson, Taylor (Karli) Schellfeffer, Michael Schellfeffer, Kayla (Jeremiah) Nelson; great-grandchild, Chase Schellfeffer; brother-in-Law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. LaVerne was preceded in death by his son, James; parents, Edwin and Adeline; sister, Elaine (Ed) Alber, and sister-In-Law, Maxine Forcier. Funeral services will be a private family gathering. The family would like any memorials to go to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Eau Claire Humane Association. A special thank you to the Doctors and staff at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center.
