Lawrence "Larry" L. Dexter, 93, of Eau Claire died suddenly at Sacred HeartHospital on November 9, 2005.\r\nHe was born on February 16, 1912, in Waupun, WI, to Eleazure and LeahMehringer Dexter.\r\nLarry graduated from Eau Claire Senior High and from Ripon College.Throughout his school years he played football, basketball, and baseball. Healso boxed under the name "Lightfoot Larry Lee" and was a Golden Gloveschampion.\r\nLarry married Margaret Ann Klawiter July 15, 1939, in Eau Claire.\r\nHe served as a telephone communications specialist in the U. S. Army duringand after World War II on the staff of General Douglas McArthur in Tokyo,Japan.\r\nLarry was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company for 14 years and afterthe war he was employed by Phoenix Steel for 29 years until his retirementin 1977. \r\nA member of St. Patrick
