Obituary

Lawrence G. Gran, 83, of Eau Claire, died on Monday, April 14, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital.He was born in rural Hixton, the son of George and May (Johnson) Gran.\r\nIn 1949, Lawrence married Beverly Winger in Northfield, WI. They later divorced. Lawrence married Leni Binder on March 16, 1971, in Alma Center.\r\nLawrence owned and operated his farm in Northfield Township for 28 years. He then worked for Blakeley Construction and also farming for his son until his retirement in 1996. \r\nHe was an avid and hunter and fisherman. \r\nLawrence was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Leni of Eau Claire; a son, Gary (Kathy) Gran of Strum; a daughter, Gail (Gary) Knutson of Hixton; three grandchildren, Laura, Sara, and Jody; four step-grandchildren, Mitchell, Teresa, Terry, and Travis; 7 great grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Gran of Hixton, and Howard Gran of San Diego, CA; and by many nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Marion Flood; a sister, Marian; and by three brothers, Maynard, Vernon, and Morris.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 19 2008, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Pastor Omar Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.\r\n
