Lawrence D. Lawler, 98, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born in Osseo, WI on October 28, 1911, a son of Edward and Julia (Anderson) Lawler.\r\nLawrence married Margaret D. Ward on May 21, 1938, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire. He was a dedicated, loving husband to Dorothy his wife of almost 72 years.\r\nHe worked as a machinist for National Presto Industries until his retirement. \r\nLawrence was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church.\r\nLawrence had a zest for life and continued through the years to enjoy his hobbies of music, gardening, fishing, knife making, and building model cars. Lawrence and Dorothy enjoyed many years of dancing, and in recent years spent many hours watching "Dancing with the Stars" together.\r\nLawrence is survived by his wife, Margaret; his sister; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and nine sisters and brothers.\r\nFuneral services will be held at Noon, Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
