LAWRENCE G. "SPEED" POLINSKE, 2214 Sherwin Ave., died Thursday, May 1, 1997 at Luther Hospital with his family at his side. He was born January 10, 1911 near Fall Creek. He moved to Eau Claire in 1934. Lawrence married Norma V. Martin on October 17, 1936 in Fall Creek. Beginning in 1934, he worked as a machinist at National Presto for twenty-four years. In 1960, Lawrence was employed at Consolidated Thermo Plastics, where he was as an inspector until his retirement in 1975.\r\nAs a member of St. Matthew's Church, he was active in the church Dartball League. "Speed" loved his family, work and his trout fishing. He will be greatly missed and dearly remembered as a wonderful example of a Christian man. Lawrence was greatly respected by his family and all who knew him.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters; Sandra Krumenauer, and Debbie Kimmel, both of Eau Claire; four granddaughters, Kimberly (David) Lindquist, Baldwin, Kelly (Bill) Priest, Apple Valley, MN, Karla (Dennis) Anibas, and Kerri Krumenauer, Eau Claire; two grandsons, Kurt and Kevin Krumenauer, Eau Claire; four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Brett Anibas, Jessica Priest and Virginia Lindquist. a brother, Albert Steinke, Milwaukee; two sisters, Irene Kersten and Betty Jean (Elmer) Wilhelm, both of Fall Creek;\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife Norma, who died in 1982; an infant daughter Cheryl; four brothers, Marvin, Donald, Fredrick and Burnett Steinke; and two sisters, his twin, Loretta Pehlke and Norma Vance. \r\nFuneral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at The Lutheran Church of St. Matthew, with Pastor Paul E. Bittner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.. \r\n
