LEE G. BATES, 85, 429 Forest St., died Saturday, August 22, 1998 at Dove Health Care. He was born March 17, 1913 in Eau Claire to Isaac and Nannie (Skeels) Bates. Lee married Lila Ackerson on May 25, 1946 in St. Paul, MN. He farmed in the Eau Claire area for over 30 years, worked at the Eau Claire Labor Temple, and was also employed by Dr. Richard Ohm Sr., retiring in 1975.\r\nSurvivors include six sons, William, Herbert (Nonie), Jeffrey (Leslie) all of Eau Claire, Thomas (Jeanne) of Osseo, Edward (Helen) of San Jose, CA, and John (Dawn) of Oshkosh; three daughters, Carol Robinson of Strum, Julie (Joseph) Sass of Holman, and Lisa Ringwald of Eau Claire; twenty three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.\r\nLee was preceded in death by his wife, Lila in 1978; his parents; six brothers, Herbert, Clarence, Asher, Edward, Frank and Howard; four sisters, Mary Bates, Maybelle Swartz, Laura Bates, Pearl Mills; and a grandson.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.\r\n
