Lenore S. (Walker) Rood, age 94, of Eau Claire, passed away on February 10, 2013, at the Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire. Lenore was born in Eau Claire, WI, to Pedar and Julia (Olson) Walker on August 10, 1918, the 5th of six children. She married her high school sweetheart John "Jack" Rood in 1937. They were married for 56 years. She was an employee of the downtown J.C. Penny's' for 20 years. Lenore is survived by her daughters, Janet Ramont, Haslett, MI, Julie Carr, of East Lansing, MI, and Susan (Michael) Zirngible of Strum, WI; daughter-in-law, Susan Rood of Waunakee, WI; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Rood; son, John Peter Rood; grandson, R. Shaye Ramont; and son-in-law, Robert Carr. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kurt Jacobson will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill cemetery, Eau Claire.
