Lenore Theresa Tubbs, 85, of Eau Claire passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Dove Healthcare Center in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born February 19, 1923, to Frank and Ethel (Johns) Retallick at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Lenore graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1940.\r\nOn December 13, 1942, she was united in marriage to Gerald Tubbs at Second Congregational Church in Eau Claire. In 1962, they became foster parents to John Crowson, age 14. Lenore loved him as her very own son.\r\nShe was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School and worked extensively with the women's groups.\r\nLenore was employed by JC Penny in downtown Eau Claire for 24 years. \r\nShe will be lovingly remembered by her husband, family and many friends. She loved her Lord and was happiest when entertaining friends and family in her home with beautiful luncheons, dinner parties, and her extra special 3 p.m. English Teas. She greatly loved her grandchildren and enjoyed the many happy times they spent together. They were the joy of her life as well as her many nieces and nephews. They will all cherish their many memories of her.\r\nLenore is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gerald Tubbs; son, John Crowson of Hastings, MN; her brother, Sam (Alice) Retallick; sister, Jane Retallick; and brother-in-law, Don Johnson all of Eau Claire. She is further survived by her former daughter-in-law, Mary (Bob) Fiene of Chisago, MN; three grandsons, Jon (Ginny) Crowson of St. Anthony, MN, Douglas Crowson of Albuquerque, NM, and Frank (Sarah) Crowson of St. Anthony, MN. Lenore was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Charley Crowson; two nephews, Jerry and Dan Retallick; four nieces, Peggy Markow, Cindy Powell, Kathy McMichael, and Cheryl Murphy and their children. Special friends include, Terri Gilberts and her lifelong friend Lila Johnson both of Eau Claire, along with many other faithful friendships.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Retallick; brother, Harold (Lois) Retallick and their son, Richard Retallick; and sister-in-law, Wilma Johnson.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, Eau Claire with Rev. David Huber officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 2010 Moholt Drive, Eau Claire, WI 54703-5118.\r\n
