Leona F. Pederson, 88, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Dove Healthcare.She was born in the Town of Hallie, Chippewa County, Wisconsin on February 23, 1917, the daughter of Albert and Eleanore (Loew) Bowe.\r\nLeona married Christian A. Pederson on May 27, 1944, in Chippewa Falls and they made their home in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a wonderful cook, enjoyed sewing and making quilts, playing cards, reading, and spending time with her family.\r\nShe is survived by two sons, Charles (Nancy) of Eau Claire and Peter (Laura) of Louisville, CO; four grandchildren, Sarah (Shannon) Janisewski of Oakdale,MN, Laura Pederson of LaCrosse, Nicholas Pederson of Denver, CO, and Jason Parks of Boulder, CO; a great-grandson, Sawyer Janisewski; two brothers, Duane (Joan) Bowe and Ralph (Marion) Bowe both of Chippewa Falls; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Anderson and Mary Bowe both of Eau Claire; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\nLeona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Chris in 1984; five brothers, Edward, Arnold, Eugene, Benjamin and Herbert Bowe; and three sisters, Melvina Vogler, Marie "Mitzie" Lawler and Gloria Tellstrom.\r\nHer children extend a special thanks to Dorothy Anderson for all the love and kindness shown for Leona. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Eugene A. Klink officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
