Obituary

Leonard P. Biesterveld, 81, of Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at his home. He was born on April 23, 1921 in the town of Lima, Pepin County, WI, the son of Theodore and Edith (Bauer) Biesterveld.\r\nLeonard married Vera DeMoe in 1942, Vera died in 1977.\r\nHe served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.\r\nLeonard owned and operated Bills Sanitary Service for many years.\r\nHe is survived by his daughters, Bonnie (Ron) Sather and Renee (John "Butch" Buschendorf) Biesterveld, both of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Dan (Leeann) Harris Jr. of Eau Claire, Jacqueline and Brian (Amy) Sather, both of Madison and Carrie (Rick) Schilling of Fall Creek; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Edith Biesterveld of Durand; many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Dorothy Reetz of Augusta.\r\nLeonard was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Theodore Jr. and James.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
