On the 3rd of February in the Year of our Lord 2007 the sun set on the prosperous life of Leonard Irwin Henning. Leonard was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also an avid sportsman; enjoying softball, bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, collecting marbles at auction, and walking the shores of Lake Superior in constant search for an elusive agate.\r\nLeonard was born to Richard and Marie (Pape) Henning on the family farm east of Cleghorn on the 22nd of February, 1931. Thirty-three years of his life were spent in the employment of Uniroyal from where he retired in 1986.\r\nLeonard is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kyes); two sons, Henry "Mick" (Lynne) and Jeffrey (Jacalyn); and two daughters, Agusta Henning-Lillis and Angela (Jason) Fernander. Leonard was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Lucas, Jacob (Jaimme), Rebecca (Jeff), Dustin, Kirsten, Keegun, Alicia, Matthew, Dentri, Amaree, and Kabrina, as well as one great-grandchild, Fiona. Additionally he is survived by four brothers and sisters, Elaine Kensmoe, Norman (Elmie), Leona (Bill) Hagadorn, and Roger (Joann). Leonard was also an important part of the lives of his step-children, Jacqueline and John Krumenauer, Karen and Dave Waterhouse, Chris and Ann Heintz, and his additional five step-grandchildren, Jamie, Jill, Tasha, Amber, and John.\r\nLeonard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marie (Pape) as well as his infant daughter, Margret Marie.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Paul's Cemetery in the town of Clear Creek, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a monetary donation that will then be given to Leonard's favorite charities.\r\n
