Leone "Lee" Lennie died on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Eau Claire on June 20, 1924, to Lillian (Olson) and Bernard Larson. Lee attended Eau Claire Senior High and graduated with the Class of 1942. After school, she worked at Uniroyal and contributed to the war efforts by the production of war goods. On June 18, 1949, Lee married LeRoy George Lennie. Lee, a lifetime resident of Eau Claire, worked at Putman Heights Clinic for over 25 years where she brightened the day and eased the stress of countless patients. After retirement, she volunteered at the Phillips Senior Center and the St. Francis Food Pantry. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and caring for her pets. Lee was the beloved mother of four children, Barb (Gary) Buttikofer, Toni (Roy) Janssen, Terry Lennie, and Bill (Cheri) Lennie. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ryan Lennie, Craig Lennie, Brock Janssen, and Melissa Janssen; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons, Scott Buttikofer and Chris Buttikofer; and family member Ken Winger. Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire with Father George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Visitation will be held from Noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire.
