\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLeora B. Forcier, 94, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Grace Woodland Cottage under the care of Northwest Hospice.\r\nShe was born on June 14, 1915, in Barron, WI, the daughter of Barnhard and Jessie (Cornell) Bredesen. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1933.\r\nLeora married William P. Forcier on February 7, 1948. He passed away January 11, 1986.\r\nLeora was employed by various loan and credit associations in the Chippewa Valley. She worked from 1943 to 1973 for Farmers Home Administration in Chippewa Falls.\r\nLeora was a long time member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire. She also was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chippewa Chapter #112, and an honorary member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.\r\nAmong her hobbies were traveling around the world and her great love for dogs.\r\nShe is survived by her nephews, Edwin "Jerry" (Olga) Howe of CA, William (Donna) Blakeley of Eau Claire, Jack (Bonnie) Cornell of Eau Claire, Roger Forcier of Eau Claire, Ronald (Rosemary) Blakeley of FL; nieces, Sue (Wally) Holmen of CA, Linda (John) Martinez-Higgins of MN, Virginia Scattareli of MN, Marcie Bungert of MN; many other great nieces and great nephews; and by her special friends known as the "Congo Mafia."\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a sisters Helen B. Howe, and Margaret Martinez.\r\nMemorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at First Congregational U.C.C. with the Rev. Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini officiating.
