Obituary

LeRoy S. Teigen, 63, of Chetek and formerly of Eau Claire, died on Monday, January 14, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Eau Claire on May 29, 1944, the son of Selmer and Mary (Stitch) Teigen.\r\nHe graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1962.\r\nLeRoy enlisted in the U.S. Navy on August 30, 1962. He served as an Electronic Technician aboard the U.S.S Constellation during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge with the rank of E-5 on April 18, 1967.\r\nLeRoy married married Janice M. McFaul at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire on August 19, 1967.\r\nHe worked 25 years for Uniroyal Tire Company in Eau Claire until the plant closed in 1992.\r\nFollowing his retirement LeRoy and Janice moved to Chetek in 1995.\r\nHe was an avid Minnesota Viking fan and enjoyed teasing his Packer buddies throughout the season. LeRoy loved spending time on the Chetek chain of lakes fishing with his family, and being with his dog "Lucky".\r\nLeRoy is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, William (Kerrin) Teigen of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Michael and Kaitlyn Teigen; his in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Beverly Conley.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire with Monsignor Edmund Klimek officiating. American Legion Post #53 will conduct military honors following services at the funeral home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.\r\n
