Leslie Claude Walstrom, 92, of Alabaster, AL, died Thursday, May 14, 2009 in Alabama. Leslie was formerly from Seney and Curtis, Michigan. He also lived at Bentsen Resort Retirement Villiage in Mission, TX, where he enjoyed being a "snow bird". Leslie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee. He was a member of the VFW, Lions Club, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a Mason for many years. He was also a member of the Seney National History Association at the Seney Wildlife Refuge. He was a long-time member of Germfask United Methodist Church. Leslie is survived by his daughter, Beverly Walstrom Burks (Jim); his granddaughter, Jody Burks Edwards (Eric); his grandson, Bryan Jeffery Burks (Lisa); his great-grandchildren, Sarah Marie and Thomas Edwards and Makayla Brayden Burks; and his sister, Carol Gauthier (Jerry). Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Walstrom; his devoted friend and companion in his later years, Lorrine Engman; and his sister, Phyllis Perdue. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Iron Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery in Spring Brook, Wisconsin. The family will receive friends at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 5-7 P.M.
