Lilas M. Durost, of Eau Claire and formerly of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, WI.

She was born in Merrillan, Wisconsin on June 30, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Will) Johnston. Lilas graduated from Fairchild High School in Fairchild, WI in 1943.

She married Percy R. Durost on October 23, 1954 in Alexandria, VA.

Lilas was a secretary for the U.S. Government until her retirement in 1978.  She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire, WI.

Lilas is survived by her brother Frank Johnston and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Percy; her brothers, Meredith, Henry and Lester Johnston; her sisters, Mabel Jones, Zelma Dahl, and Alyce Gearing.

Burial will be in May in the Fairchild Cemetery in Fairchild, WI.  Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
