Obituary

LILLIAN E. NELSON, 81, 1405 Truax Blvd., formerly of 815 Chapin St., passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at Luther Hospital. She was born on March 3, 1919 in Tracey Valley, (rural Osseo) Wisconsin, to Carl and Olga (Axelson) Edmundson. \r\nShe was baptized and confirmed at the Osseo Lutheran Church and has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire for over 50 years. She was a member of American Legion Unit #53 Ladies Auxiliary, the Cabane #525, Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post #305 and past president of the Pythian Sisters.\r\nLillian married Gilman Nelson in Eau Claire November 12, 1956. She was employed as a housekeeper with several Eau Claire residents.\r\nShe was a member of Grace Lutheran Church circles and the World Service unit at Grace where she helped make quilts, knitted mittens and other warm clothes.\r\nSurvivors include her sisters, Minnie Thoen and Theola (Orwin) Sands both of Eau Claire; sisters-in-law, Orpha Stavedahl, Mayville, ND and Alvina Nelson Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilman in 1985; one brother, Orville Edmundson; two sisters, Mary Franson and Selma Franson; three brothers-in-law, Oscar Franson, Albert Franson and Arthur Thoen.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
