Taylor, 101, of Eau Claire, died on June 12,\r\n2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie, WI. She was born on April 8,\r\n1910, to Raymond and Minnie (Mayer) VanDalsem. \r\n\r\nShe worked for 6 years in the kitchen at Luther\r\nHospital. On April 21, 1934, Lily married Mayson Taylor. After marriage, she was busy being a wife,\r\nmother and homemaker. Visitors were always welcome in her home, and she was a\r\nkind friend to all.\r\n\r\nAs long as her health allowed, she was a very active\r\nmember of Truax Church in Eau Claire. Among other activities, she was well-known\r\nfor her contributions of bread, pies and other goodies to their annual harvest\r\nauction at church.\r\n\r\nLily was currently living at Solomon Hill Adult Home\r\nin Menomonie and attending Gospel Mission Baptist Church in Knapp. \r\n\r\nLily is survived by her son, Ray of Eau Claire;\r\ndaughters, Betty Rossister of Spring Valley, Margaret Williams of Port Orchard,\r\nWA, Doris (Mike McMeans) Taylor of Port St. Lucie, FL; 15 grandchildren; 31\r\ngreat-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie McElmurry of\r\nMadison, and many other relatives and friends.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Mayson;\r\nson, Clyde; parents; sister, Ada Taylor; brother, Ed VanDalsem; and several\r\nother relatives.\r\n\r\nFuneral\r\nservices will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Truax Congregational United Church of\r\nChrist, 1008 50th St., Eau Claire, WI 54703, (Town\r\nof Wheaton) with\r\nRev. David Stratton officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, June 20, 2011,\r\nfrom 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau\r\nClaire, and also one hour prior to the service at church.
