Obituary

Linda Buttenhoff, 75, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by those she loved.

A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Linda was born to Delbert and Millie (Hage) Hamann and graduated with honors from Mason City High School in 1968. A kind and compassionate soul, Linda dedicated her life to caring for others—whether through her work as a CNA, a cook at a daycare, and SCL support worker. She was also a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into everything she did.

Above all else, Linda was most proud of being a mother. Her daughter Carla was her greatest accomplishment and source of joy. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, Shyanne and Tayla, and embraced every moment spent with them.

Linda had a passion for baking and cooking, always eager to share her favorite recipes or surprise someone with a home-cooked meal or sweet treat. She was known for her generosity and thoughtfulness—never missing an opportunity to give a meaningful gift or lend a helping hand. Her kindness extended to everyone she met.

Linda also found joy in the simple pleasures of life: playing bingo, shopping for the perfect find, and making those around her feel special and loved.

She is survived by her daughter Carla (Josh) Haley of Elk Mound; granddaughters Shyanne and Tayla; her mother, Millie Hamann of La Crosse; and her brothers Richard (Paula) Hamann of West Des Moines, IA,Ronald (Marlys) Hamann of Mason City, IA and Robert (Dianne) Hamann of La Crosse, WI; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Hamann.

Linda's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to St. Croix Hospice, Dove Healthcare – Rutledge Home, and Grace Lutheran Communities – River Pines Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for their compassionate care and support over the years.

Linda's generous spirit, warm heart, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
