Linda Marie Hort, 46, of 1830 Warden St., died Monday, September 10, 2001, at her home. She was born on December 4, 1954 in Eau Claire to Thomas and Elizabeth (Stewart) Hawke. She graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1973.\r\nLinda married Gary Hort at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on July 12, 1980.\r\nShe worked at Chmel Laboratories, Mays Floral and was a Dental Lab Technician at Hillside Dental until moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1995. Linda was most recently employed in the bakery at Mega Foods West.\r\nLinda had an appreciation for nature and animals, and enjoyed working in her flower gardens.\r\nSurvivors include her daughters, Jamie and Ashley Hort both of Fort Wayne, IN; her father, Thomas of Eau Claire; two brothers, Bill (Carol Lemke) Hawke and Bob Hawke both of Eau Claire; a sister, Jeanne (Lester Tice) Brost of Fall Creek; niece, Amy (Jerome) Martinek and nephew, Jeremy Tice both of Chippewa Falls; great-nephew, Keaton Martinek of Chippewa Falls; Gary Hort of Fort Wayne, IN; and Carl and Gloria Hort of Eau Claire.\r\nLinda was preceded in death by her mother.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2001 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
