Lindsay Y. Druschel, 75 of 2219 Third Street died Friday, January 26, 1996 at the Center of Care.\r\nLindsay was born April 4, 1920 to William and Edith (Lindsay) Druschel in Rockford, Iowa where he grew up and received his education. He served with U.S. Army in the European Theater with the 775th Tank Battalion during World War II and was honorably discharged on November 17, 1945. Lindsay married Virgene Hartwig in Nora Springs, Iowa on August 25, 1947, they resided in Rockford until moving to Eau Claire in 1956. He worked for Art's Sheet Metal Co., and then at Farm House Foods until his retirement in 1984.\r\nHe was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, the Teamsters Union, and the American Legion and VFW Posts of Rockford,IA.\r\nAs an aquaintance of the Duesenberg family his hobby of collecting miniature Duesenberg cars brought much pleasure and enjoyment to him.\r\nLindsay is survived by his wife, Virgene; a daughter, Edie (Rick) Boehm of Red Wing,MN; a son, Robert (Deborah) Druschel; a granddaughter, Jessica Hakes-Druschel all of Eau Claire; two sisters, Elizabeth (Donald) Koehler of Rockford,IA and Mary Ann (Glen) Hayward of Kimberling City,MO; a sister-in-law, Betty Druschel of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law, H. DeVere (Gloria) Hartwig of Mason City,IA; four nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur. \r\nLindsay was a loving husband and caring father who enjoyed his children's interests and activities, always a willing "helping hand" to assist them in their homes.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastors John E. Hosmann and Cynthia A. Crane officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery. \r\nFriends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd elevator fund or memorial of your choice.
