Lloyd F. Drais, at 78 of Elk Mound, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire on Monday, September 30, 2013. He was born on October 4, 1934, in Bay Settlement, WI, to Albert and Edna (Deschane) Drais. He attended Catholic Central High School in Green Bay, WI graduating in 1952. Lloyd served in the US Army from 1954 – 1956 and the US Army Reserve until 1962. He graduated from DeVry Technical Institute – Chicago, studying radio, television and electronic repair. On October 3, 1959, Lloyd married Janet L. Nichols at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Green Bay, WI. He worked at Wisconsin Telephone Company from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. Lloyd enjoyed his work with Talking Books through the Telephone Pioneers, of which he was a Past President. He also enjoyed fishing and duck hunting when he live in Rhinelander WI. A true Green Bay Packers fan, he would never miss a game. Lloyd and his brother Mike were actually at the "Ice Bowl" game in 1967. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet; sons, Tim Drais, Steve Drais, Jeff (Cris) Drais and Doug (Candice) Drais; grandchildren, Brandon, Hayden, Mike, Emily and Kailyn. He is also survived by his brother, Norbert Drais; sister, Joan (Jim) Lipp; sister-in-law, Sharon (Steve) Zube; sister-in-law, Julie Drais; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Monday, October 7, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 417 W. Menomonie St., Elk Mound WI, with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at Church. Father Joseph Nakwah and Father Victor Inbaraj will officiate. Interment, with full military honors, will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Spring Brook Township, Dunn County WI.
