Lloyd J. "Little" Niesen, 83, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on, Monday, March 27, 2017, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, with his family by his side. Little was born on October 9, 1933, in the town of Cleveland, Chippewa County, to Edward and Agnes (Thill) Niesen, and attended school at Holy Ghost in Chippewa Falls. In 1952, Little enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in Guam and on the USS Ingersoli DD 652, and was honorably discharged in 1956. On July 4, 1959, Little married Nadine W. Powell at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. They moved to Kenosha where he worked for 30 years at the Chrysler Automotive plant. After retirement, Little and Nadine moved back to what he called "God's country" in Chippewa County. Little enjoyed polka dancing, gardening, raising heifers, wood crafting - especially birdhouses and took great pride in taking care of his family. Little is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nadine; five children, Dean (Chris) Niesen of Kenosha, WI, Theresa (Guy) Street of Beaver Dam, WI, Deanna Andrews of Barron, WI, Dennis (Terri) Niesen of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Kenneth Niesen of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, J.T. Mecozzi, Jackie Klodzin, Shawn Roark, Brianna Milkie, Melissa Niesen and Leanna Jacobson; seven brothers and sisters, Bernadette (Monroe) Swartz, Floyd (Eva) Niesen, Berniece (Richard) Kreuser, Shirley Vradenburg, Nancee Mancl, Robert (Gloria) Niesen, and Henrietta (Patrick) Leary; sister-in-law, Barb Niesen; and also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Niesen; brothers-in-law, George Mancl and Ronald Vradenburg; nephew, Dale Schneider; and niece, Laurie Humbert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Peter's Catholic Church, 11358 County Highway Q, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm, on Friday, March 31, 2017, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilden, with a Christian vigil service beginning at 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am, on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilden with Monsignor Michael Gorman celebrating the Mass. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
