LLOYD H. WITTREN, 69, 1203 Daniels Ave., Altoona, passed away Friday morning, October 31, 1997 at Luther Hospital. He was born in Eau Claire, June 6, 1928 to Henry and Margaret (Levasseur) Wittren. \r\nLloyd graduated from Altoona Public School in 1946. He served in Korea with the U.S.Army from 1950 to 1952. Lloyd married Aubrey E. Arries on June 9, 1951 in Altoona. Lloyd had owned and operated a Mobil Station in Eau Claire and in Altoona and W&W Trailer Sales in both cities. Later he worked for the Water Department in the City of Altoona, watching the city grow and expand until his retirement in May, 1989.\r\nLloyd enjoyed camping with his family and fishing and hunting with his good friends. He was an excellent cook and maker of Altoona's best Sun Pickles.\r\nSurvivors include his wife of 46 years, Aubrey; two daughters, Cynthia (Chuck) Krumenauer of Hudson, and Nance (John) Sampson of Earl; four grandchildren, Chad and Cody Krumenauer, Joshua and Keri Sampson; a sister, Dorothy (Donald) Sorensen of Beloit; two brothers, Donald (Sharon) Wittren of Sarasota, FL, JeromeWittren and special friend Barbara Langland of Altoona; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert E. Garbisch officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery with VFW Post #305 conducting military graveside rites. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.\r\n
