Obituary

Lois Gladwell Chase, of Eau Claire, WI, died at home on Saturday, May 16, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was born in Eau Claire and graduated from UW Stout in 1942. She married Clarence J. Chase on June 4, 1951. He died in 1978. Clarence was a math teacher and principal in Ogilvie, MN for 30 years where Lois taught Home Economics. Lois was a teacher for the Eau Claire School District, retiring from Chippewa Valley Technical Institute. Survivors include her children, Julie (Michele Besant) of Madison, Daniel (Linda) of Menomonie, Mathew (Jeanne) of Plover, Catherine (Jim Hahn) of Madison, Carl (Cathy) of Waupaca; nine grandchildren; Sara (Brian Tenant), Johnathan, Zachary, Steven, Cara, Lisa, Samuel, Kelsey, and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Monica (Barrett) Gladwell; her husband; and a son, Michael Chase. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 316 Fulton Street, Eau Claire, with Father William A. Dhein celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family&friends may call at the Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn-Funeral Home Tuesday, May 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the time of Mass Wednesday. A Rosary service will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
