Lois A. Ender, 70, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. She was born August 26, 1935, in Bloomer, WI, the daughter of George and Ida (Schroetter) Schatz.\r\nLois graduated from Holcombe High School in 1953. In addition to being a mother of five children, she worked as a cook at the Eau Claire Academy and many other jobs. Through most of her career, she worked in central processing at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire for twenty years, retiring in 2000. Lois was also a member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nLois enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and especially her beloved grandchildren. She loved baking cookies for everyone in her family, close friends, coworkers, and everyone in her apartment building. Her hobbies, besides baking, included reading, shopping and she also loved collecting butterfly paraphernalia. She will always be remembered as a caring, compassionate person that was always there for everyone.\r\nSurvivors include her three children, Donna (Dan) Haakenson, of Elk Mound, Brian (Marta) Ender, of Eau Claire, and Deborah (Joel) White of Medford, OR; nine grandchildren, Justyn Field, Amanda White, Cody Ender, Lara White, Lyndsey Haakenson, Caleb Ender, Brittney Ender, Daniel Haakenson, and Emily White; two brothers, Rolly (Joyce) Schatz and Bill (Ruth) Schatz, both of Oregon; two sisters, Helen (Gordon) Read of Oregon and Lucy Davis of La Crosse, WI.; Lois is also survived by several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Diane Field; a son, Steven Ender, and one brother.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Amy Odgren officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
