Lois A. Franklin, 80, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire.\r\nLois was born in Eau Claire on July 31, 1928, a daughter of Thomas and Leona (Probst) Larson.\r\nShe lived with her family in Owen and Chippewa Falls and they moved to Eau Claire where she graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1946.\r\nShe attended Eau Claire Teachers College for a year and then enrolled in the Luther Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1950. \r\nLois married Jack G. Franklin in Eau Claire on September 2, 1950. \r\nShe worked as a nurse at Luther Hospital until her retirement in 1988.\r\nFollowing retirement, Lois and Jack traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. \r\nLois is survived by her daughter, Kathy Franklin of New Auburn; two sons, Scott (Michele) of Eau Claire and Shaun (Jennifer) of Mondovi; sister, Audrey (John) Hotvedt of Amherst Junction sister-in-law, Dolores Larson of Fountain Hills, AZ; a brother-in-law, Edward Olson of Woodville; and nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 2005; a son, Kurt in 1983; her parents; a brother, Lyle Larson; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Olson.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Christ Church Cathedral, Eau Claire with The Very Rev'd Robert L. Rademaker officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S. Farwell St., Eau Claire. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire at 9 a.m. on Friday.\r\n
