Lona Emberts, 86, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2002 at Capeside Cove Nursing Home in Siren, WI. She was born on August 28, 1915 to Matt and Mary (Borofka) Sickora in Bloomer. Lona married Alfred Emberts in Eau Claire in 1932.\r\nSurvivors include her six children, David (Shirley) Emberts of Milwaukee, Barb (George) Brantner of Siren, Shirley (Herb) Anderl of Chippewa Falls, Michael (Betty) Emberts of Bloomer, Tom (Bonnie) Emberts of Eau Claire, Patricia (Gene) Moe of Spooner; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Peterson of Augusta; and nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; two grandsons, Steve Running and Scott Emberts; a grand-daughter, Terry Lynn Emberts; three sisters, Beatrice Holcomb, Helen Nelson and her twin sister, Leona Peterson; and two brothers, Leon and Nick Sickora.\r\nFuneral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Olson officiating.Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and an hour prior to services on Thursday.
