LOREN A. RASMUS, 68, of 3438 Midway St., died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at Luther Hospital. He was born February 21, 1932 to Oscar and Gudrun (Thompson) Rasmus in Eau Claire. Loren was a graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School, class of 1950, and attended U.W.E.C. earning credits toward a degree in business.\r\nHe worked for Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company until retirement in 1992 after 37+ years as a Sr. Process Engineer. Loren owned and operated Northside Liquor Store from 1977-1985, and also owned and managed several rental properties.\r\nLoren was one of seven persons who organized and chartered Babe Ruth Youth Baseball in the city of Eau Claire, and was a charter member for over twenty years, as well as Past State President. He coached and managed the team that participated in the Babe Ruth World Series, finishing seventh, in 1959. He coached football, basketball and baseball at Regis High School from 1951-1978, with much success. In addition, Loren built his own home. His hobbies included golfing, biking, P.C's, photography, and chess.\r\nHe was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Loren had also been a member of the Evening Exchange Club and the Eau Claire Junior Chamber of Commerce. \r\nSurvivors include three sisters, Helen (Robert) Lindmark of Crivitz, WI, Beverly Triplett of Alexandria, VA, and Joanne (Robert) Mersdorf of Beltsville, MD; a brother, Don (Cleo) of Freeport, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Thacker; and two brothers-in-law, James Thacker and Wasiel Triplett.\r\nFuneral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nFamily suggests memorials be directed to the American Lung Association of Wisconsin, 150 S.
