Loretta Barbara Schwark, 92, of Eau Claire went to be with her Lord at home, on Friday, October 26, 2007, one day before her 93rd birthday. She was born on October 27, 1914, to Ferdinand and Annie (Kochendoerfer) Huber in Cochrane, WI. She was a graduate of Cochrane High School, and received her teaching certificate from Buffalo County Teachers Normal School.\r\nLoretta was united in marriage to Lester Fred Schwark of Alma on January 5, 1939, in Decorah, IA. Their only son, Bryan was born in 1941.\r\nThey lived in Alma where Lester owned his barber shop. They moved to Eau Claire in 1942 and made this their permanent home.\r\nLoretta was first and foremost a loving wife, a great mother, and a wonderful grandmother to her three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a dedicated daughter and caregiver to her parents, and was supportive to her only sister, and her sister's children and grandchildren. "Family" was one of Loretta's greatest pleasures on earth.\r\nFriends were also very important to her. Her hospitality was unlimited, she was truly an inspiration and well liked by all who knew her!\r\nLoretta was also a pillar of strength and dedication to her church-Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was active in its women's organizations, and for many years chairman and bible study leader of Hope Circle. She was also involved in numerous organizations including Cub Scouts, Uniroyal Ladies Auxiliary Local 19 serving as secretary for 40 years, Vocational Homemakers for 30 years, and Meals on Wheels.\r\nLoretta's love of life was always present. She enjoyed her time on earth by being an avid bowler, and kept herself young by gardening, and feeding the birds and squirrels until the age of ninety. \r\nLoretta is survived by her son, Bryan (Jane) of Platteville; three grandchildren, Debra (Mark) Schoenfeldt of Whitefish Bay, Suzanne (Russ) Dudan of Mequon, Dan (fiancée, Penny Larson) Schwark of Hazel Green; four great grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Schoenfeldt, and twins Madeline and Maxwell Dudan; niece, Jeanne Hettrick of Madison; two great nephews, David (Julia) Johnson of Eau Claire and Harlan (Debra) Hettrick of Madison; five great nieces, Andrea (Ron) Debf, Denise, Lynne, and Gail Hettrick, and Tracy Simon all of the Madison area; and cousins, including a first cousin of 101 years, Elna Achenbach of Alma.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester in 1993; sister and brother-in-law, Alpha and Andrew Carlson; a niece, Ann Barland of Eau Claire; a nephew, Harold Hettrick; and friends.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. \r\nMemorials in her name may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
