Lorraine Anita Tesch Bartig, 89, of Eau Claire passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Care Partners Assisted Living Facility. She was born July 12, 1927, in Watertown, WI, to Leonard and Anita (Mallow) Tesch. On May 1, 1954, she married James L. Bartig at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI. They resided in several cities in Wisconsin before settling in Eau Claire. Lorraine loved reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with family. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She is survived by her three children, Candace (Matthew) Frein of Bloomington, MN, Scott (Melany) Bartig of Eau Claire, WI, and Laurie (Kevin) Braun of Prairie Du Sac, WI; brother, Gene "Toby" (Susan) Tesch of Watertown, WI; four grandchildren, William (Jessica) Bartig of Bellevue, WA, Suzanna (Jeremy) Jensen of Eau Claire, WI, Victoria Frein of Bloomington, MN, and Shauna Braun of Prairie Du Sac, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2006; her parents; two brothers, LeRoy and Robert Tesch; two sisters, Anita "Trudy" Karnitz and Myrtle Kephart; a niece, two nephews and a grand-niece. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at The Lutheran Church of St. Matthew, 1915 Hogeboom Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Steven D. Rutter officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Care Partners Assisted Living Facility (Frank Street) for their kindness and wonderful care of Lorraine.
