Lorraine E. Begalke, 87, of Eau Claire, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born on July 24, 1918, in Woodville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Christ and Ida (Johnson) Anderson. Lorraine married Howard R. Begalke on May 9, 1942, in Woodville. He died on March 13, 1994.\r\nLorraine was an active member of First Lutheran Church, since 1946. Her church was very important to her and she played an active role in it.\r\nLorraine worked at various jobs, including Presto during the Vietnam War and at UW-Eau Claire cleaning the student dormitories. Sewing and gardening were her favorite pastimes. \r\nShe is survived by two sons, Dennis Begalke of Eau Claire, and James (Betsy) Begalke of Baldwin; a daughter, Kathleen (Roger) Taylor, of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Todd Begalke, Dana (Kevin) Hruby, Jesse Taylor, and Zeke Taylor; a great grandson, Alexander Taylor; and nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2006, at First Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Woodville. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
