Lorraine M. Carroll, 90, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire. She was born in South Dakota on March 24, 1918, a daughter of Carl and Ella (Miklos) Janke.\r\nShe was raised in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High in 1936.\r\nLorraine married Robert L. Carroll in December 1939. They were later divorced. \r\nShe worked at Peter's Meat Packing, Uniroyal, and then on the production line at Armour Meat Packing until her retirement in 1980.\r\nLorraine was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her garden and watching the birds at the feeders.\r\nLorraine is survived by her three children, Judy (John) Anderson of Culebra, Puerto Rico, Jerry (Mary) Carroll of Eau Claire, and Bonnie (John) Lundquist of Appleton; two granddaughters, Tracey (John Peterson) Anderson of Plymouth, MN, and Holly (Jim) Eberle of New Berlin and their children Morgan and Tyler; four grandsons, Tony Carroll and his children, Jennifer, Tony and Rachel, Michael Carroll, Jeff (Jessica) Carroll of Seattle, WA, and Greg Carroll of Eau Claire; her sister, Marion (Mel) Wesenberg of Altoona; two brothers, Jerry (Bev) Janke of New Auburn and Bobby (Sue) Janke of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Jane Janke of Woodville and Gloria Janke of DeKalb, IL; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Howard and Vernon Janke.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen M. Hofstad officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home. \r\n
