Lorraine M. "Peggy" Welke, 77, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire. Peggy was born on August 3, 1936, in Eau Claire, to Alvin and Vember (Reed) Cramblit. After high school she married the love of her life, Theodore "Ted" Welke Jr., on April 16, 1955, in Eau Claire. Peggy worked as a bookkeeper at the Black Steer and First Wisconsin Bank. She also worked at Sears as a parts clerk until she and Ted moved to Las Vegas in 1992. While in Las Vegas, she worked for the Convention Bureau and enjoyed having friends and relatives come for a visit. After Ted's death in 1998, she stayed in Las Vegas until health issues brought her back to be close to family in the Eau Claire area. She was an excellent cook and baker, and her Christmas candies, breads, and cookies will be remembered by all. She loved to do puzzles, play cards, watch M.A.S.H. and Judge Judy, and never missed a Packer Game. She and Ted are together again with no pain or worries and the peace of knowing her life was well lived. Peggy is survived by her 5 children, Ted (Deb Binder) Welke, Pam (Gary) Weaver, Christine (John) Parker, Angela (Mark Muse) and Mari Griffith; 6 grandchildren, Jason Weaver, Melissa (Jeremy) Tarbox, Nicholas and Gabriella Parker, Kendra and Patrick Muse, and Skyler and Wayne Griffith; 3 great-grandchildren, Brody, Braxton and Graysen Tarbox; 1 brother, Joseph (Joella) Cramblit; 1 sister Nancy (Dick) Crippen; and 1 sister-in-law, Shari (Gerald) Hartwich. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, Ted; 1 grandson, John Muse; 1 sister and her husband, Shirley (Ernest) Wiza. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
