Lorraine J. Stetzer, 81, a life-long resident of Eau Claire, died Friday, April 4, 2003 at the Clairemont. She was born on November 6, 1921 to the late Frank and Minnie (Thoreson) Anderson. Lorraine graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1939 and later attended Eau Claire Business College. Lorraine married Alfred W. Stetzer on November 10, 1946 at Grace Lutheran Church. She was employed as a secretary by U.S. Rubber Company for 7 years, until 1947. She was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church and its Executive Secretary for 28 years before retiring in 1990. She was an active part of the church's social life: as past president of the Ladies Aid, active member of church circles for 50 years and member of Ruth Circle for 10 years, and as a current member of the Friendship Club. Lorraine is lovingly remembered and survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Fred) Poss of Eau Claire and Joan Bandt of Durand. She was a proud grandma to Nick Poss of Columbus, OH, Cheri Poss of Nairobi, Kenya, Bill (Teddi) Bandt of Palmdale, CA, and Chris Bandt of Pacific Palisades, CA; and great-grandma to Rebecca, Hans, and Billy Bandt of Palmdale, CA. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Margaret (Bill) Bilbrey of Eau Claire. She leaves many nieces and nephews and dear friends with fond memories. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Al, who died in 1993. A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10th at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
