Louis F. Krueger, 80, of 1927 Ohm Avenue passed away Tuesday, October 1, 1996 at the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. He was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin on September 22, 1916 to August and Adella Krueger. The family moved to Wausau when he was 13, and he attended Wausau schools graduating from Wausau High School in 1934.He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 41 years in Chicago, La Crosse, St. Paul, and in its mobile service including the Duluth and Altoona RPO, and the St. Paul-Green Bay highway post office. When the mobile services were discontinued he was transferred to the Eau Claire Post Office from which he retired as a supervisor in 1979. \r\nOn June 2, 1945 he married Florence Ziebell at St. Stephen's Church in Wausau. Louis was a four year veteran of WW II, three of which were spent in New Guinea, with the U.S. Army Coast Artillery, and is a life member of Burns VFW Post 388 of Wausau. His Masonic affiliations include Eau Claire Lodge #112 F&AM, a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire, and Zor Shrine of Madison.\r\nAs a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, he served as a Chapter 371 service officer.\r\nHe belonged to Grace Lutheran Church where he participated in the Men's 3-S group and the Wednesday early morning Bible study group for many years.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Florence; two daughters, Susan (Michael) Wilson of Terre Haute, IN; and Anne (Jim) Fowler of Odessa,TX; two grandsons, Adam Wilson of Dothan,AL; and Nathan Wilson of Terre Haute,IN; two brothers, Harold (Lola) of Gulf Stream, FL; and Norman of Wausau; a sister, Marjorie Erickson of Medford; two nieces and five nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nMemorial Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Barbara A. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
