IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise Josephine
(Grage) Schraufnagel
November 20, 1927 – June 14, 2025
Louise J. Schraufnagel (Grage), age 97, passed away on Saturday, June 14th with friends and family sending her into the arms of her loving Savior. Louise was the first-born daughter of William C. and Lillie (Kleinsteiber) Grage on November 20th, 1927 in Highbridge Wisconsin - two years before the Great Depression. Louise took on the responsibility of helping her parents raise her younger sisters Alice, Margaret, Doris, Lillian and brothers Paul, Robert, William and Roy. Louise graduated 8th grade and quickly started to work to help make ends meet for her big family. She was an excellent seamstress and worked in the sewing trade. Louise married Robert M. Schraufnagel and they were blessed with their son Robert L. (Bobby). As Bob excelled in school, Louise, who always wanted to graduate high school, studied with Bob and earned her GED at about the same time as Bob graduated high school. Louise was an avid gardener of flowers, vegetables, and fruits that she canned well into her 90's. She always loved her fur babies providing a good home for them throughout their lives. Both Bob and Louise enjoyed travelling with their camper and made trips to Disney World in Florida, visited relatives in Montana, Michigan, and throughout the state of Wisconsin. Hopefully they are together again hitting the road with their Minnie Winnie camper. Louise passed away leaving her brother Roy of Highbridge; sisters Alice Tobisch, of Highbridge; Margaret Rebella and Doris Grage of Mellen; Son Robert (Tami) of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob), parents, brothers Paul, William, and Robert and one sister, Lillian. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 201 Lake Shore Dr., Ashland, WI. Visitation will take place at 10:00a.m. with the memorial mass to begin at 11:00, internment to follow mass. Lunch will be served at the church following the internment. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services are assisting the family. Online condolences may be left for Louise's family at www.lenmarkfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to Meals on Wheels or your local Humane Association would be appreciated.
