Obituary

Louise W. McFaul, 91, 2796 50th St., Eau Claire, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Dove Healthcare. She was born November 29, 1910 to Andrew and Elizabeth (Mayer) Johnson in the Township of Wheaton, where she grew up on her parents' farm. She attended Prairie View School, and worked in Milwaukee and in Los Angeles, CA. \r\nOn August 17, 1942, Louise married Lyle J. McFaul at St. Patrick's Rectory in Eau Claire. Since 1942, they farmed on Lyle's family farm in the township of Wheaton, which was homesteaded by Lyle's grandfather in 1882. \r\n Lou worked as a cook for several years at Longview School, and had a catering service as well. She was a 4-H Leader for 11 years for Sunny Valley 4-H Club. Lou enjoyed writing and wrote a book entitled " A View of the Past", recollecting family memories. She was also working on her next book "Into the Millennium" a history of the State of Wisconsin / City of Eau Claire. Lou also loved to read.\r\nShe was a charter member of St. James The Greater Catholic Church, where she was a past-president of the Rosary Confraternity, and a member of the St. Isadore's women's group (patron saint of farmers.) She served on the Parish Board and on the Town of Wheaton Election Board. Lou was a member of Longview Homemakers, Chippewa Cty. from 1945 to the present.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Lyle; two daughters, Phyllis (Phillip) Gannon of Chippewa Falls and Nancy McFaul of Eau Claire; an honorary son, her nephew Robert (Eunie) Burgess of Green Bay; a sister, Alice Fry of the Town of Wheaton; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Valentine, Bert, Fred, and Lester Johnson; and three sisters, Minnie Britten, Rose Vogler, and Mary Corbin.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002 at St. James The Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating.Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home where there will be a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Vigil.\r\nThe family would like to thank Dr. Chris Roberts, his nurse, and the staff at Dove Healthcare for their care and compassion.
