Louise A. Smith, 89, of 150 Viking Place, died Monday, June 9, 1997 at Luther Hospital. Louise was born July 4, 1907 to Louis and Rose (Alma) Laurin in Cumberland, WI. She married Ervin "Erv" L. Smith on June 14, 1934 in Turtle Lake,WI. They moved to the Eau Claire area in 1949 and founded Erv Smith,Inc., in 1964, where she was vice-president, secretary and treasurer until their retirement.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Jeanne (Denis) Barrington of Englewood, CO, their children, Mary, Kevin, and Julie; three sons, Mark (Judy) Smith of Cerritos,CA, their children, Steve (Charlot) Smith, Rebecca (Tom) Heinson, Michael (Erika) and Melissa (Steve) Sewell; Noel (Diane) Smith of Eau Claire, their children, Theresa (Bud) Brommer, Jeffrey Smith, Sandra (Terry) Farley; and Mike (Marilyn) Smith of Woodville,WI, their children, David (Wendy) Smith, Kathy (Jeff) Eckwright, Kris (Holly) Smith, and Amy Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Megan Smith, Kayla and Coty Smith, Laurin and Molly Louise Smith, Rachel Heinson, Michael and Mark Sewell; three brothers, John (Jean) Rivard, Raymond Rivard, and Richard (Mary) Rivard; a very special niece, Rosemary Gordon; many nieces and nephews.\r\nLouise was preceded in death by her husband; Erv in 1993; her parents and a brother, Louis Laurin. \r\nShe will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.\r\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M. Thursday at St. Patricks Catholic Church with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Interment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to the St. Francis Food Pantry.
