Lowell "Coke" Dealton Brown, 72, of Eau Claire, died on Monday, March 9, 2015. He was born on July 29, 1942, to Clark and Leona (Wold) Brown. He attended Sam Davey Elementary School and graduated from Memorial High School in 1960. He passed away at his earthly home to be welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus, whom he prayed faithfully to every day. He married his beloved wife, Mathilda Hardwig, on March 2, 1979, in Eau Claire, where they resided for 27 years. She passed away on September 10, 2006, and he missed her presence every day. Lowell enjoyed spending his time with his wife, he liked to watch sports on television and listen to them on WAYY radio. He even played a few sports in his younger days. He enjoyed his Leinenkugel's beer and shared them with many friends through the years. He was in the Army, being honorably discharged in 1968. He was so proud that he got to shake our late president, John F. Kennedy's hand. Lowell also spent several years in the National Guard. Lowell is survived by one brother, Eugene C. Raether of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Nancy A. (Paul) Gustafson of Arkansaw, WI, and Marilyn J. Peterson, of Eau Claire, WI; four step-daughters, Barbara and the late Dave Balliett of Augusta, WI, Marilyn (John) Todd of Brookfield, IL, Sharon and the late Eugene King of Brawley, CA, and Cynthia and the late Dennis Orvis of Verona, WI; his very special nephew, Dean "Sunny" C. Johnson; step-grandchildren, Ray Luedtke and Harold King; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; step-granddaughter, Alicia Todd; aunts; uncles; and cousins. In respecting Lowell's wishes, there will be no services held. Burial will be at a later date.
