Loyd W. Lowe of Plum City, WI died unexpectedly on February 18, 2026, at age 43. Loyd lived a life defined not by its length, but by the warmth, energy, and authenticity he brought into every space he entered. Loyd was born on February 5, 1983, to John D. Lowe and Connie Zasada (Forster) in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from Memorial High School. Loyd grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors that would remain with him throughout his life. Those who knew him remember a man who never lost his sense of curiosity or his love for simple, meaningful experiences.
Loyd found joy in rockhounding, hunting for morels, riding cycle, playing disc golf, and sharing a good game of pool. He also spent a lot of time on the Chippewa River. He had a natural way of bringing people together. Whether through shared laughter, friendly competition, or quiet companionship.
By his side through it all were his Old English Bulldogs, Savo, Kali, and Gandalf. They were always along for the ride and a cherished part of his everyday life. Loyd had owned several different types of reptiles as well. Such as alligators, tortoises and a roughneck monitor throughout his adult life.
Loyd is survived by parents John D. Lowe and Connie Zasada (Forster), siblings Julie Lowe, Harold (Jessica) Lowe, Nephews John Eagleman, Nevada Pickney-Lowe, Marco (Marcela) Pickney, and King Crawford. Nieces Emma Perez and Hazel Lowe.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marge and Elwayne Forster, Ruth E. Lowe, Harold W. Lowe, Greyson Eagleman, and his beloved dogs Savo and Kali.
He leaves behind a large and loving family who will continue to honor his memory in the way they live, love, and gather together.
Though he is no longer here in person, Loyd's spirit endures in the outdoors he loved, in the stories shared, and in the hearts of those who knew him best.
Memorial services will be held at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home West Chapel 1405 N Clairemont Ave Eau Claire, WI 54703, on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Visitation is from 2:30pm-4PM, with memorial service to follow at 4PM.
Loyd's Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2026, at Westgate Sportsman's Club from 3pm-9pm.
